I am a 22 year old stay at home mom to a wonderful little boy named Landin. I am engaged to be married to the greatest man I have ever known. I am pretty outgoing and like to meet people who share my interests. I am also one of the only people I know of in my family that has breastfeed. I am definatley pro breastfeeding!! I wish there were more people out there to advocate breastfeeding. I don't feel like message is really out there to women!! Nursing was a challenge for me in the very begining but I hung in there and after the first two weeks I was doing wonderful with it!!

Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it. I will definitely do what you say and drink the water!  I have been pumping and mixing the breastmilk with the formula with the hopes that the baby will regain her weight and I will bring my stress down and increase my milk supply. I called a lactation lady that is a friend of the family and she suggested Fenugreek tea... she was also happy to hear that I was getting support from mothers on this website.  When I go to the doc on Friday I hope to hear that she has regained her weight and I will add in more breastfeeding time... I was really enjoying it and I really want to give her all the breast milk that I can. Thank you again. Your comment really made me feel better!!

Your little girl is adorable too!!  So if you don't mind me asking how long have you been breastfeeding? Have you had any problems with nursing and teething ( any discomfort or pain?) Landin just cut his first tooth and I am curious of what I might need to expect!!

I have been breastfeeding 11mo,3weeks,2days. The only "problem" I have had was plugged ducts (many times- if you need advice on that, let me know). Gabriella bit me ONE time after she got her first tooth. It hurt so bad that I screamed "ouch!!" very loudly, which scared her and she began to cry. I did not mean to have it happen that way, but she has not bit me since!
Happy Nursing!

Be ready!!!  Kevin has 2 teeth on the bottom and he bites down, then laughs about it.  Before the teeth broke through, he would clamp down and pull away, and that was uncomfortable.  What do you give him to help him teeth?  I use Hyland's teething tablets (Kroger has them) and they work really well.

Question?? Umm so Landin has a tooth now and he his kind of being a little rough while nursing did you ever have that problem if so do they stop after he gets used to the tooth or is this going to continue. He didn't start doing it until the tooth broke through on Saturday!! It's not painful but its not very comfortable either!!

Oh Landin is 6 months old too!! I don't know why I spelled it with an i I just did lol!! I like it with an o or an i but I have seen where it has been spelled Landen and I dont' much care for that. I would definatley like another boy and if I am blessed with one I would like to name him Aiden, but my fiance says "no I don't like that name" so we will have to find another name we both like. Naming our son was soooo easy we just knew Landin was his name. If you don't mind me asking what is Landon's middle name? We named him Landin Lee (Lee after his daddy).

Landon's middle name is Hoover. Five years ago when we decided we wanted our second child, we wanted to name a a boy after my dad, but didn't want to use his first name, and his middle name didn't go with Landon so we used my last name. It really thrilled my Dad. Our second child was another girl, but we still liked Landon so much that it stuck around. An hour before I had Landon, another lady had a little boy and named him Landyn with a "Y".  It confused some of our friends, though because they had a sign hanging on their door that said "Welcome Landyn", our friends went in the wrong room.LOL I love have a son. I love all my children, but it is nice to have a son, now. I would like to have one more and maybe name him Kaiden, but my husband doesn't like it. I like the name Aiden but it is so popular around here, and there is a little bou in our church named Aiden. Our oldest daughter is Brooklyn Alexis, and it was easy to name her. Our 2nd daughter is Annaliese Skye, and it took us forever to agree on her name. He wanted to name her Skye Annaliese, eventually he came around to my way of thinking. I didn't hound him about it, I thought if he likes Skye and Annaliese, one day he'll realize that it sounds better Annaliese Skye, and he did. Picking Landon's name took like five minutes, we were in the car, discussing wether we were ready for baby #2, and I said I really like the name Landon, for a little boy, and he said we could name him after your dad, and we put his first and middle name with Landon, and didn't like it, And he said Landon Hoover sounds good, though, and we were done :)

Hi LandinsMommy,
Your baby boy is so very cute! The Baby Book by Dr.Sears is another great book for the first year- it has been a great help to me.

It's actually kind of funny my fiance's family is more excepting and thinks it is a wonderful thing that I breastfeed. They have never said anything negative. However my familly on my Dad's side always tells me I can bond over a bottle better!! They get uncomfortable if I nurse him when they are around. I am not shy about nursing my son I will not go in another room and shut the door they don't eat their meals in a room all alone do they?? So I would have to say one of the hardest parts of breastfeeding for me was the negative comments I got from my own family!!

I know sometimes families are so weird. With my fist I would set in another room, but now I don't care. I don't flash anybody, and because others get uncomfortable I do cover up, but come on, why should I have to miss out on family time just because some people are negative. It would probably be okay if my shirt was cut low, or if my shorts were short, but you can't do the natural thing and nurse your baby. One time I watch a man complain because a lady at another table was nursing her baby under a blanket, but another lady's thong underwear were visible, and that didn't bother him. Double standard I would say. I would much rather see a woman nurse than another woman's undies. We just have to change the world one ignorant person at a time. Ignorant as in unlearned!

Hats off to you for being the first to nurse in your family! You have paved the way for others. My hus.bands family doesn't so it was tough with our oldest, but now they are used to it. My mom and aunts nursed, so I had great examples! The first two weeks are the toughest, I believe!

Thank you soooo much for telling me about this sight!! I really like it!! I felt so out of place with most moms that I know because of the breastfeeding. I don't think mothers who strictly bottle feed know what all goes into breastfeeding. It is very demanding at times. I have a hard time leaving Landin with anyone but his dad and his Aunt Jenny. I feel like no one else understands his needs. Did you ever go through that? Or am I alone on that one??

I still go through it.  If Kevin hears my voice, he wants just me.  Nursing is very demanding, because all of baby's feeding needs, we are the only ones who can provide it.  There are only a select few people that I will leave Kevin with.  Its hard when you are nursing, because a lot of people don't understand.  It is very important that they listen to you when you tell them how to care for your child.  Don't worry...you'll get through it.  If people give you stink, tell them to mind their own business.  We should get together next time I'm in town, sounds like you need some support!
