hi renee,
am wondering if you're storing any bm ? i am starting to freeze my bm and would like to know what breast milk storage bags to use since theres so many available.
any advice?

I use Gerber bags. As I pump during the day, I freeze all of the milk. I use the oldest date first and continue that each day. By the end of the day I only have 3-4 bags. I don't pump at home, only on the weekend to increase the supply of the bags to take to daycare. It seems to be working well this way. My son was born at 34 weeks but he was 7 lbs. I had to stop breast feeding due to the meds they gave me after the c-section and then I had to have my gallbladder removed 6 weeks after that. I continued to pump so my milk wouldn't dry up. I plan to nurse up until he gets teeth. I nursed my oldest until he was 9 months and he never even had a runny nose during that time!

hi renee,
thanks for the mail. i don't remember if i mentioned my daughter was born at 29 weeks weighing 750 gms . she was severly premature coz there was some disfunction in the placental blood flow .
she was in hospital for about 4 months! it was heart breaking but shes a fighter and made it........
i can't directly breast feed her coz i need to mix a high energy powder to the bm . so here i am pumping and even though she is 5 months old she is just a lil over 8 pounds now - my tiny princess!!

i'm planning on breast feeding her for another 6 months if possible.

regards,
benaifer

hi renee,
my baby was born very prematurely at 29 weeks gestation and was in hopsital for 107 days . i spent most of my time in the hospital with her and thus was able to pump while i was there . now she is home and she still weighs only 8 pounds and drinks about 3 ounces per feed . i pump about 4 ounces myself but thats seems to be more and plenty for her. i am thinking of starting to freeze the milk as i will start work in 2 months time. do you have any suggestions on storage bags ???? have looked at several websites and very confused!!

we'll keep in touch,
binny

Hello there!
You are so lucky to be able to pump that often. I just returned to work and I'm lucky if I can pump 3 times a day. It seems that now I can only pump 4-5 oz. each time. I keep drinking water, but it hasn't helped yet. Do you also nurse? I nurse before we leave the house and as soon as we get home and of course throught the night.
