Working mom

I have a four month old daughter. She nursed for the first two months with a nipple sheild. I have small nipples so it was difficult to latch on. After the second month when my milk was established, I began to ween her off the nipple shield and after a couple tries she latched on great. Even the transition of me going back to work was smooth. She drank expressed milk in the day and nursed at night. However, I could not pump enough during the day so I have to suppliment with formula. I drink tons of water (I go to the bathroom more now than pregnant) Fenugreek, Blessed Thistle, and oatmeal. All this and I can only pump two oz. for missed feedings during the day and barely 1oz after feedings. One time that I take advantage to pump is in the morning when the prolactin levels are high, but I've been noticing that my daughter doesn't nurse effectively.  She's also liking the instant gratification from bottle versus the breast. She doesn't like to wait for letdowns. I've even started drinking O'douls, the non-alcoholic beer that I've heard helps increase supply. At what point should I start taking a medication to increase my supply. I have been pumping once before she wakes up, three times at work, and another a night time.

Please help! I am desparate and heart broken!

Keep at it I had troubles with my son also.  Join a bf group for support.  Sometimes a pump just doest get enough so just pump what you can and dont worry if you have to suplament mix it with the bm you get dont give up encorge her to nurse maybe try pumping to get the milk flowing and then nurse so she doest have to wait for the letdown that may help.
