Mother's Passions

Now that I have my own job, and could definitely live on my own, I still go to my parents' home during the weekend. Nothing beats a weekend of sumptuous meals and laughter with mum and dad.Even my three siblings still go home whenever their schedule would permit. I even remember my youngest sibling, who is still in college, bringing his research papers during this family time just so he could be with us. Our family bond has been solid ever since Dad was suddenly rushed to the hospital for a complication. We, siblings, agreed to always make it a point to visit our beloved parents. Good thing that none of us is married yet. We carry on with our weekdays with mom and dad constantly calling us through cellphone or via skype.

Dad now rests at home while busying himself with painting. He has a good eye for details, and a really prolific hand. I plan to surprise him in his birthday. I asked mom to collate all his works by the end of the month so I could mount them on our garage and hold a mini one-man show exhibit on his birthday this December. What's good about this project is that mother has been hands on in this. Since mother has given up working part-time on an online website whose industry is to buy term papers, she had so many free time for us.

Mother was a diligent professor and contributing writer during her prime. When we were younger, she hardly had time for us. Though we were taken good care by our nanny, we most of the time still want her attention. But she always contended that it was good that we were not so dependent on her. Now, all of us grew up standing on our own, and were all fairly successful on our chosen fields. Now that she is quite old to work regularly, we noticed she became more into our lives. On Mondays, when we go back to our own apartment, she would get up really early to prepare breakfast and packed lunch for all of us. She even makes it a point that all our clothes were cleaned during the weekend.I pray that mum and dad will live longer.
