Posted On 12/28/2007 15:21:51 by JRB850207

I can't seem to produce enough breastmilk to keep up with my 3 month old. He's never full for some reason he'll eat for about 10-15 minutes on each side fall asleep for 20-30 minutes and wakes up hungry again like he never ate before so i give him all i can give and then sometimes supplement with a bottle. They even put him on cereal to keep him fuller longer. I don't know what to do to produce more breastmilk. Please Help

would your hubby consider inducing lactation to help out, it would take a real effort and several weeks of extensive stimulation but it can and has been achieved

I have been told several times that the more often you feed, the more milk you will produce.  I had the same problem with my first born at about the same age.  I tried feeding him as often as he wanted to eat, but still ended up with a hungry baby and VERY sore nipples after about 2 weeks.  Then my girlfirend did some research and found that 1/2 a beer and a walnut a day would help produce more milk.  I thought this was the CRAZIEST thing I had ever heard, but I tried it anyway...and it worked!!!  Strangest advice I have ever taken, but it sure did do the trick!!!
