Wanting to stay home
Posted On 01/28/2008 21:08:19 by kjnh638

My stay at home is almost up my son is nearing 6 weeks and I am nearing getting back to work.  And I really don't want to leave my son I love watching everything he does and seeing him do new things and the cuddle time we get everyday because I chose to breastfeed.  Problem is I don't know if we can afford for me to stay home with him.  Does anyone have any ideas of ways that it might be possibly feasable.  I thought about going back part time on his dads days off but then I still miss out.  I am so emotionally torn I only have a minimum wage job to go back to and my materinty leave was unpaid so we are missing an income now and without savings and help from family we wouldnt be making it.  But I would still really like to be able to stay with him. Sad new mommy looking for advise on ways to help me stay home with my little man.

I know how you feel hun.  If you can find away, stay home.  If not, I would go part time when Daddy is home.  I've been considering it lately.  Well, I consider it, then decide against it.  Lol.  Sometines I think it would be nice to get out for a few hours and get back into management.  But it's hard to separate from Chandler.  You'll do what you gotta do and things will work out.
BTW, I saw the accident a few weeks ago when that car crashed into your old house.  I wasn't sure if your parents still own it.  I saw that it's for sale.  We've been looking at so many houses this week!  I'm so tired!  I'll talk to you later.  I hope you find a solution that makes you all happy!

You can always try to cut costs in certain areas. Get books and movies from the library instead of buying, eat cheap, don't eat out. Look at hillbillyhousewife.com

Also, are you crafty? You can always sell old things on eaby, or sew or crochet things to sell. Get creative!

PM me if you have any questions. I know your child will benefit from having you stay at home. :)

I HAVE 3 KIDS MY FIRST SON I WENT BACK TO WORK WHEN HE WAS 2 MONTHS OLD AND WORKED PART TIME TILL HIS BROTHER CAME 14 MONTHS LATER AND WHEN MY 6 WEEK WERE UP I WENT BACK FULL TIME. I NURSED BOTH BOYS SO I HAD TO PUMP, BUT I WORKED FOR MY DAD SO I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THEM TO ALL THEIR DOCTOR APPTS. IF THEY WERE SICK I WAS ABLE TO TAKE TIME OFF WITH THEM, AND ALSO IT HELPED THAT THEIR GRANNY WAS THE SITTER FOR FREE. WEL I JUST HAD MY LITTLE GIRL ALMOST 4 MONTHS AGO AND LIKE YOU I THOUGHT I CAN'T AFFORD THIS I HAVE TO BE BRINGING IN SOME INCOME, WE'LL NEVER MAKE IT. THE SUPRISE IS WE ARE AND DOING BETTER THAN WHEN I WAS WORKING. IF YOU DON'T GO TO ALOT PLACES AND EAT AT HOME YOU WON'T SPEND AS MUCH MONEY, AND YOU'LL SAVE ON GAS. WE ACTUALLY GOT RID OF ONE OF AOUR CARS SO THAT SAVED ON INSURANCE. IT REALLY IS AMAZING THE MONEY YOU CAN SAVE STAYING HOME. YOU HAVE TO ADD UP CHILD CARE AND EVERYTHING AND SEE JUST HOW MUCH MONEY YOU WOULD BE BRINGING HOME. GOOD LUCK BECAUSE I'M SEEING ALOT WITH BABY GIRL THAT I MISSED WITH MY BOYS AND IT BREAKS MY HEART.
