SEVERE VG ITCH/PAIN
Posted On 04/28/2008 02:38:32 by ehcapakori
HELP!  Embarrasing vg itching/burning for 11 mos, now.  Plagued w/ "yeast infections" through entire pregnancy; no relief in sight, have tried numerous homeopathics, OTC & prescribed treatments. Dr. finally said to "live with it" until delivery, it would get better.  Dr. has never tested- just treats w/ pills & creams, though I've asked him to test 2x (he says it wouldn't do any good; he knows exactly what it is).. After delivering & no relief, he is now saying I have low estrogen & suggested I quit nursing to get full relief (after I politely explained that I would quit nursing "over my dead body") he gave me an Estrogen cream which caused heavy bleeding for 3 days solid & now increases my chances of developing cancer in the future.  He says it's just my period {my bb is only 9 wks old- how could I cycle so soon!}  I have not had sex in nearly a year & at the begging of my poor patient husband, got a 2nd opinion last week from a Nurse Practitioner who tested & said it was Bact. Vg. and prescribed a cream; but now  5 days later it's worse than ever & completely unbearable!  Now going in tomorrow for yet a 3rd opinion.  HAS ANYONE BEEN PLAGUED BY SUCH UNBEARABLE SYMPTOMS?

I had a yeast infection post pregnancy about 2 months. It was horrible, painful and itchy. After two over the counter treatments and eating a ton of yogurt I have not had another one yet(almost 2months). I would say get a new doctor.

I had that problem a few times, the doctor gave me this pill (just one pill) and...gone, I don't remember the name ,
but it worked fast, also a nurse told me...2 get one
of those sticks u fill up with cream...put some *plain yogurt* in it & use
it just like the medicated cream.  (For about 3 days) It's
natural...plus the good bacteria will fight the bad ones & create a
more friendly environment.
Oh & u can also use a bath w/ 1 cup leveled of salt, pour in hot water, it helps w/ the PH balance in the VG area.

I know you said you tried a bunch of stuff but here is what my doc prescribed when I was having terrible itching.  It was Clotrimazole and Betamethasone(two words, one ointment).  Whatever it is it's powerful and it worked.  But what I was dealing with wasn't a yeast infection, it was just itching and irritation.  If you haven't tried it yet then you should give it a try.  It did wonders for my misery!
