The Birth of My Daughter Maiya Colter
Category: Life

Of all my children this had to have been the hardest LABOR of all. I was induced on Monday, April 28th @ 9:30 am. My baby was born at 5:23 am Tuesday morning. The Doctor had me on pictosin (if thats how u sp it) at the highest level. I was in so much pain I could not stand it! I was not able to get an epidural until about midnight after having the worst contractions every two minutes for about 8 hrs straight! The only thing that got me thru that without rippin out the I V was my very supportive man Cole. He really helped me get thru the pain , giving me back and foot rubs and just holding me thru those horrible contractions. I feel like I diddn't even have a Nurse. She was the worst Bitch you could have as a nurse. She barely came into the room. Cole had to help me to the restroom, change my sheets and blankets, clean me up when i got nauseated cuz that Bitch was no where to be found. By 4:00 am we were both (me and Cole) extremly exhausted. The nurse came in and told me I was dilated to 9 1/2 and asked if I felt like I needed to push. Well being that I had an epidural I could not feel my lower half and diddn't know what I felt! You would think she would know that. So the Bitch just left and I passed out. Well I wake up at about 5:10 and just felt so uncomfortable in my back and just weird all together. So I wake up Cole and tell him how im feeling and then I just felt really nauseated. I grabbed a bag and started throwing up like crazy. At first I felt this gush of water, then after some more heaving I felt alot of pressure down there like something just plopped out of me! I had blankets on so I couldnt see anything! By then Cole was already on his feet throwing away the bag and asking if I was ok. When I was able to speak I said " Hurry look under the blankets I think I had the Baby!!!" So he lifts the blankets and his eyes turned the size of lemons and hes like " OMG you did!!!!" Then he starts running around the room grabbing towels and blankets then throwing them down, while im yelling " Call the Nurse!!! Finally he just runs to the baby lifts her up removes the umbelical cord from her face and neck then does a finger sweep of her mouth and you hear her first cry!! He says " Its breathing!!" Then he puts her down and runs out the room yelling to the nurses "She had the baby!" Thats when 3 nurses and the Doctor finally come into the room to do thier job! And even though it was messed up the way things went I don't think I would go back and change anything because if anything the whole experiance made us feel closer than ever and its just a beautiful story we can tell our baby girl how Mommy and Daddy deliverd her ourselves! And that was the birth of my beautiful daughter Maiya Viola Mary Colter. 6 lbs 13 ounces and 19 inches long.

Oh WOW! Thank goodness that Cole was there!  That's great that he took charge and knew exactly what to do! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the nurse and staff there.  But you and baby are okay, and that's what matters.

wow, what a story! Sounds like you would have been better off at home, if you were going to have to deliver her yourself anyway! Congratulations!
