Fisherman pants (AuLait, thought of you
Hi all, sorry I haven't done an intro before now. I kind of forget the groups are here *blush*
I'm Ashlea, self taught sewist. So far I do most of my sewing for my kids. Way back when I attempted sewing for myself and went through so much trial and error w/ so little success that I put it aside. I started sewing dresses for my nieces, so much easier.
Now I can sew pretty well for my kids, hurray! I subscribe to www.ottobredesign.com and I'm totally in love with their patterns and style. The things I make alway fit correctly and their patterns are easy to tinker with, or maybe I've finally gained some confidence.
Anyway, I saw the *free* pattern to sew Thai fisherman's pants and remembered that people here have talked about them. AuLait's post stands out in my mind for some reason. So, here is the link:

Yes! I think they are very comfy, but the fit was not what I expected. The crotch was so low if I wore them at the height for the hem to be at or below my ankle. If I pulled them up so the crotch was comfortable, then they were capris! I'm sure that is a problem that could be adjusted through minor pattern alteration though and so many people like them, perhaps I'm just a freak
