Don't give up!!
Hi, I just wanted to say that as hard as it may be the only two people you need to listen to are you and your child. If you're happy to continue breastfeeding and it definately seems your baby is,why stop? I fed all three of my children past the one year mark and two of them were more than two when they stopped, and it was them that stopped. You are doing an amazing thing for your little one, something that noone else in this world can ever give them. Treasure each moment you have your baby to your breast as all too soon they'll be grown up and a teenager and you will be the last person they'll want cuddling them!!!! Good luck Christine Thorne

nursing a toddler
I completely know what you are going though! My DH and my best friend are also constantly on me. As are alot of my family. Luckily i work with my parents (we work at Building Healthier Babies) so i have their support. I enjoy nursing, and wish i wouldve been able to nurse as long with our oldest. But nursing is going great for us. Its just past the 26 month mark for us, and she's not slowing down. My plan is also to nurse until she's ready to stop. Did you know that you cut down your risk of breast cancer by 50% by nursing for 2 years or more?! Tell them that next time they bug you! Also extended nursing gives baby other benefits, like the fullest potential to aid their immune system. Also they found some compounds of stem cells in breastmilk!
