HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR FOOD & MEDS TO PASS INTO BREASTMILK?

Does anyone know how long it takes for food & meds to pass through breastmilk? My Dr. thinks approx. 4-6 hrs, my mom says 24-48 hrs.....  I've been recently diagnosed w/ Rheumatoid Arthritis & will most likely have to take meds at some point.  I may need to pump & dispose for a few days & it would be nice to know this~ thanks ... Clogged ducts & reuse of refrigerated breast milk - Please help

My baby is 4 weeks old. Baby is gaining weight and has the right amount of diapers so guess BF seems to be going good after intial hiccups! It's been 3 days that my left breast seems warm and the side feels tender and sore at one particular spot (4 O clock from the nipple) - is this a clogged duct ?  Please help me with some tips/advice. Also, I express milk and wanted to know  if I can reuse refrigerated breast milk ? I had expressed on Mar 29 and refrigerated it. I offered bab... Read More

Well as of Friday .. Baby Boy is 25 inches ..... and 17 lbs!!! yowza...... We do have a slight case of the Trush .. the Dr is gonna let me try to treat it with out the prescriptions.... but in 3 weeks if it has not gone away ....... we will take the cream ... he is very vocal now .. he likes to talk to me and trys so hard to do what I do it is so amazing .. I get alittle choaked up just thinking how fast he is growing .. This journy is soo amazing .....he is already teething .. that is a bit sca... Read More

So I'm back to work. 

You know, I love breastfeeding, but I'm afraid that some people advocate it to the point of fear.  I am  CNA, and when I work, there is no time to pump every two hours.  My midwife had me so worried that my milk supply would cease to exist that I actuallly got head aches from the worry.  So I talked to the LC at my local WIC office and she said that my milk production might go dwon a bit, but not go away completley.
