          It has been a very busy two months and summer is firmly upon us. An issue I have been counseling nursing mothers (AND PEDIATRICIANS) lately is the need for post partum weight checks until the baby surpasses their birth weight; I also prefer an additional weight check 5 days after the birth weight has been reached.

I knew when I started to breastfeed that it would be challenging and rewarding. That being said, there was no preparing myself for the emotions that I feel. Being overly tired and somewhat frustrated (probably because I am so tired) has not yet overrun the joy of knowing that I am providing my daughter the best but the joy hasn't made it any easier either. Milestones

As mothers we tend to make note of those precious milestones. We jot down dates for first smiles and holding those heads up. We call our mothers when the baby finally reaches up to us from their crib, and we grab camcorders to eternalize those first scoots around on the floor.
