What the heck?

Ok really.  What is it about people that think that babies should be bf in public bathrooms?  Gross.  Twice now I have gotten that suggestion.  I have no problem feeding my 7 month old in public but I usually find a quiet place because otherwise he doesn't eat as well.  But a bathroom??  Would a nonnursing mom bottle feed in the bathroom???  All those germs...I wouldn't eat in a bathroom and I certainly am not going to feed my baby in there!!!

With my oldest daughter I did nurse in bathrooms. She was my first and I was nervous and shy about. Now, with my third I nurse just about anywhere. I will never nurse in a bathroom again, they are so nasty. The next time someone suggest nursing in an unsanitary bathroom, just ask them if they plan to eat there meal there, as well. If you wanted to show off your breast for any other reason, except nursing, it would be okay with society. Just take pride in what you are doing for your child, and take courage, you are doing the best thing for your little one, and that is all that really matters!!!

Hubby and I went to McDonalds last night.  We were going to let DS1 run around in the play area.  Anyway, there was one other mother there with her 3 kids and then this loud mouthed guy in the corner who spent the entire time screaming into his phone.  After a while the mother's littler girl started getting fussy so she let her nurse.  The woman turned around completely so she was facing away for all of us, inculding the other man.  The man had to get up and talk to his boy for a second and when he noticed the woman bfing (very descretely) he started shaking his head and got a pissed off look on his face.  He glared at me as if he thought I would reinforce his disgust.  I just looked at him and waited.  If he was so much as going to utter an insult......I was ready to come to the mother's defense.  He didn't say anything though.  He ended getting back on his phone and started cussing someone else out.  So what the heck is more inappropriate?  A mother bfing in public or a man using every 4-letter word in the book in a children's play area?

I think the same way, but I will admit that on a few occasions while going out grocery shopping, I went into the bathroom to feed my baby. When I was doing so I felt like a criminal or something and thought to myself, why am I feeding my precious lil girl in the bathroom, she doesnt deserve this, who cares what ppl think. Since them I have opened up alot more to the Bfing in public. I just dont understand why some ppl find it a big deal.
