A Life Saving Liver

My daughter Brooklyn was born September 17, 2007 perfect with all ten fingers and toes, but a lil Jaundice which isn't abnormal for children who are native. The doctors said it would go away in a few days, but days turned into a month and it was only getting worse. On Thanksgiving evening I was changing my daughters clothes to put her to sleep I looked down and all I saw was her belly expanded and hard to the touch we rushed her to the hospital and then was sent to another hospital then finally to the Childrens Hospital in Seattle, WA where we are currently.
The doctors ran some lab work and came to me with the most devistating news a mother should never have to hear "Your daughters liver is failing and she's going to need a new one" I thought she wasn't going to live, but they assured me she's going to be fine.
On December 1, 2007 less than a month from the day she was diagnosed with liver failure she got a liver from a doner. It took 7 hours to complete the surgery and we were out of the hospital on December 14, 2007. She will be on medicine for her whole life so she doesn't reject her liver, but that's just a small price we had to pay. I thank God every day for my miracle baby.
