Hey all!!!! We are almost at 6 months!!! Just a few days away and yes, still breastfeeding! My little guy has 2 bottom teeth that are almost fully in, but thankfully he hasn't used them yet while nursing. I wanted to tell you all (Im sure you all know by now) that I discovered the "hooter hider" finally!!!! I wish I would have made this up. I was with a friend who is also breastfeeding her 11 month old in a restaraunt a couple of weeks ago, and I told her I wasn't completely comfortable feeding in public and she said, dont worry about it, I have the perfect thing for you! So we went in, sat in the back corner facing the wall and she pulls out this apron looking thing! She said, you have to try it, it's worth it!!! So my son was getting fussy and wanted to take a nap before we all were going to eat, I get her "hooter hider" and put it around my neck and sliped the front over my son and started feeding with NO problems!!! At this age, they want to grab everything in sight and hold on to it, but with this thing, he can't pull it down!!! I was just so amazed and so it all worked out! I was happy, baby was happy!! The next day I ordered my own off of Target.com. It's sooo worth it!!!! Now I can rub it in my mother in laws face that I can feed in public without any problems!!!! Anyway, hope all is well!!! Happy feedings to all!!!! Rach
Well there's good news a bad news!!!! This annoys me the most... We get up, get to the doctor and BAM! The doctor that he's been seeing can't see him because of insurance!! We have Kaiser now for all of you who know about that, and we recently changed from BCBS because of some issues, they couldnt cover my son for the first 6 months of his life because he had RDS (respitory distress syndrome) but he was perfectly normal after he got out of the hospital when he was born, so anyway... we went with Kaiser and one month later after the people on the phone told me that his doctor was ok to see....we get there, and they can't because he's out of network!!!!! ARGH!!! I was so upset because I liked everyone there and they were seeing my son for about 2 months now... well, we had to go to a Kaiser clinic and now he can't be seen by the DOC until august 4th!!!! I told my 4 month old, he got outta his shots easy today!!!! so that's my rant!!!!!! PERSONAL INSURANCE IS A PAIN!!!!!!!!! But I'm over it for now... At least we are able to have it, that's the positive thing!

Hey all!! My 4 month old son has slept all night since he was around 1 month. Am I going crazy for asking this or is my son sleeping too much?? He will sleep 12-14 hours in the night and then like 2-4 hours during the day!! Is it me, or does my son have a sleeping disorder? lol He goes to his 4 mo check up Friday sO I can ask the doc too, but Im sure no one would complain about it, I was just curious if I was the only one!! :)

My sister in law has a 2 year old and a 10 month old. She needs advise on how to get both kids dressed without the 2 year old dissapering out of the room. 2nd question. When they are in the car with both kids. The 10 month old is still trying to be weened from bottles, I told her to just throw them all away, but in the car besides a sippy cup, what can you feed the 10 month old when he's really hungry and can't have a bottle or adult food that will fill him up? I only have a 3 month old so Im not quite there yet. Any thoughts? THANKS!!!

Hey all!! I've made it to 3 months so far!! Still breastfeeding and doing the bottle thing! anyway, have a question towards the ones that have been through this month already. When will my little guy start doing these things? Turn over on his own, start holding things on his own, start holding the bottle on his own, and sit up on his own. He's the cutest right now, cooing, babbling, and he's starting to sort of put his palm to the bottle which is amazing. My husband of course is trying to make him grow up faster than what he's doing now by putting him in a hanging jumper thingy, but my mother said it's not good for them to sit in those yet when they can't sit up or hold themselves up yet. Also, on a different note. If I was to supplement formula one time, is that bad? I haven't done it but heard it won't hurt if you need to do it. let me know your thoughts!! Thanks!

Just yesterday I was feeling like I was mad at everything. Of course baby not sleeping, and husband not there probably didn't help, but I went to the bathroom, and vuala! I was bleeding! It was pretty heavy too, but is it normal to start a period while breastfeeding?

I am a 27 year old new mom to a beautiful 2 week old son. Since early this morning, my son would not stay asleep until 7AM till 11:30AM which is pretty much normal for him. After he was up, I would breast feed him, he'd fall asleep, then put him back down, and he was up after 20 minutes and he did this until finally I had my last bottle of breast milk which was around 2 oz, I went and got him out of the crib, changed him (which this could have been a problem as well.) and fed him about an oz of the bottle and he laid down just fine and slept till around 730PM from 330Pm. I'm very new at this, and I could ask everyone I know that has had a new born about this, but when it's your own, you think somethings wrong with you. There are a few factors here. 1, I am not producing enough milk, 2, he's just gassy, 3, hes going through the "growth spurt". He's not crying for nothing though, usually a normal, "ive pooped, or Im hungry" type crying. If hes not napping like normal every once in a while, what could it be?? I really want to breast feed till I ccan't anymore, but I''m hoping that him being 2 weeks old isn't IT! Any advise would be gracious. Tonight should be interesting. :)
