This is how natural bfing is.
Posted On 07/09/2008 23:57:39

Think about it.  Breastfeeding is completley natural.  I'm going to even go as far as saying that it's what God intended when he designed women.

Back in Jesus times they didn't have formula or plastic bottles or anything like that.  What does that tell you, Jesus was breastfed. Yes, God himself was breastfed. Who can dispute that argument, if god designed us this way then, yes ALL women can breastfeed..... provided they have boobs and nipples.

Just a weird thought.

OMG! Black Bear
Posted On 06/30/2008 11:46:56
Dude, like less than 15 minutes ago a police officer ppled out of the parking lot here.  I went out to see what was going on and the neighbors said there was a bear passing through.  How crazy is that?

Poor thing was probably scared to death.  I didn't see it.  But all my neighbors did.

Peace everyone.

cloth diapers ahoy!
Posted On 06/21/2008 10:14:06
I'm like a crazy person when it comes to cloth diapers.  I think I have almost enough to make it through one day.  I absolutley love my cloth diapers, when my baby wears them through the night she has no rashes!  Both my kids have really sensitive skin, so they break out easily.

Anyways, I'm thinking about selling them online once I get a good stock pile made for my kids.  I would sell them for like $10 each, which is a good deal considering other fitted diapers sell for $16 to $20 a peice online.

In other news, I've made it past 4 months of breast feeding.  Whooo Hooo!  I never would have been able to do it if I wasn't staying home.  I hate working.  I love staying home and taking care of my home and my family.

Peace everyone.

clothes washing el cheapo

Check out my new washing machine in my pictures.  Lol!

The main reason I bought it was to help in the switch-over to cloth diapers (which do not give my youngest kid rashes, yay!) easier.  I won't have to spend $2 to wash diapers every day.

I also do regualr laundry in it.  I still use a regular washing machine but I'm hoping to get to the point where I won't need to pay money to wash my clothes.

It washes about 1/2 the load that a regular washing machine would wash.  To wash, rinse, and wring out a load of clothes, it takes about 15 minutes.  Then I line dry them.

I am looking for a hand crank clothes wringer, like what they used to have on old-school washing machines.  If anyone knows where I can get one for cheap please let me know.  New ones online cost about $195 to $200.

Low energy
Posted On 06/18/2008 09:33:38
I've made it past 4 months of BFing.  I thought my body had finally adjusted, but since the beginning of this month, my energy levels have been so low I just don't know what to do.  The only thing that seems to keep me slightly awake is Mountain Dew, but when I drink it in excess, it seems to have a negative effect on the baby.  My energy doesn't peak until after 9pm.  I don't know what is going on.

I havent' been this run down since the last time I was pregnant.  I can't be paregnant because I have Mirena for birth control.

If anyone has any ideas what I can do, please let me know.

Diaper Update
Posted On 06/12/2008 23:16:09
I am amazed  The cloth diapers I'm making are really absorbent!  I tested them on my 2 yr old.  When she pees, she pees a lot, so when she peed in the cloth diaper, I expected it to be completley soaked.  Not even.  The outside of it was damp and that's all.  No huge mess or  bed sheets to change.  No puddle of water dripping out from the plastic diaper cover.

Also, I tested an all-in-one gerber training pant on her and she pooped in it.  It was really easy to clean out.  I just ran it under cold water and scrubbed it with an old tooth brush.

I'm so happy!

Nestle is a monster
Posted On 06/07/2008 14:55:38

I've watched a few videos and read a few articles about Nestle and it's activities in 3rd world countries.  They break laws and falsely advertise.  There is a lot of evidence to prove it, but why is nothing being done about it?

Check out this statment on their website.

"Nestlé continues to maintain its commitment to follow and respect all applicable local laws in each of its markets."

If this is not a flat out lie, then my name is rumple stilskin.

This just really made me mad because every 30 seconds a baby dies due to improper bottle feeding or malnutrition caused by bottle feeding in 3rd world countries.

I guess I'm weird

Is it just me or does breast milk smell good?  I'm serious, when you compare the smell of breast milk to the smell of formula or even cow milk,  breast milk wins hands down.  This is just my opinion.  It's like you can tell by the smell of it that it is some high quality stuff.

This brings me to another idea.  I don't know if it would be legal, but someone could totally start a company selling human breast milk at grocery stores.  Wouldn't that be amazing?  It wold mean temporary jobs for mothers, 'cuz who knows how long you can produce breast milk?  But mothers could possibly work out of their homes.  It could be the new "dairy farm."  Human dairy farm. LOL

Maybe I'm just crazy.  If such a thing were legal, I would totally sign up for it.  Maybe it would be a job where I could bring my kids to work.  Pre-school/ human dairy farm.  Lol.

silly ideas of mine.
